Ganzhou Municipal Economic and Trade Commission is the functional department of the municipal government with a mandate to the national economy and coordination of economic operations. It is responsible for macro control over the national economy, coordination of important issues in economic operations, establishment and standardization of market economy order and guarantee of the continuous, stable and healthy development of regional economy.
Principal Functions:
to implement national and municipal guidelines and policies on the national economic operation, monitor and analyze the situation of the national economic operation, and coordinate the routine operation of the national economy; to compile and implement recent macro control goals of economic operation, regulations and measures, draft local and comprehensive economic development measures, organize and coordinate the handling of important issues in economic operations, and raise comments and proposals to the municipal government.
 To implement national and provincial industrial policies, organize the formulation of the city's industrial regulations, and supervise and inspect the their enforcement; to direct the industrial restructure, put forward restructuring programs for key sectors and key products; to liaise with the social intermediaries in the industrial and commercial communities and guide their reform and restructuring.
To organize the drafting of industrial and comprehensive regulations and rules concerning industries and trade, and supervise and inspect their enforcement; to take charge of the implementation of Industrial Famous Brand Strategy; to collect, classify, analyze and release economic information.
To conduct industrial management and supervision over township enterprises, textile industry, chemical industry, construction industry, coal and smelting industry, materials, mechanical industry, commerce, light industry and etc; to draft local industrial programmes and regulations, and implement management of Municipal Medium and Small-sized Enterprises Service Bureau, Municipal Building Material Service Office and Municipal Modern Service Industry Management and Direction Center.
To study and plan the investment layout of competitive industries, publicize directing contents for project investment at stated intervals, guide the directions of commercial and industrial enterprises'

investments and commercial banks' loans excluding state grants, conduct registration and recording of projects and relevant supervision which should be brought into the gross balance of the municipal Development and Planning Commission; to study and draft regulations on utilization of foreign capital, direct industrial and commercial enterprises to use foreign capital (including projects directly invested by foreign capital), to propose implementation suggestions for national industrial direction contents for foreign investment in the industrial and commercial field, and supervise the implementation; to put forward the investment direction of foreign loans used by our industrial or commercial enterprises; to draft regulations on assets, stock equity and managerial authority transfer from state-owned enterprises to foreign businessmen, and supervise the implementation; to direct enterprises to conduct international management and implement enterprises'  investment and cooperation overseas programmes.
 To study and direct the circulation system reform, foster, develop and improve the market system, draft regulations concerning standardizing circulation order and market planning; to monitor and analyze the economic operation and supply and demand situation of key products, and organize the macro control; to implement national and provincial trade policies and import and export policies, to cooperate with municipal Development and Planning Commission to compile municipal import and export plans of mass or key industrial products and raw material or products and raw material which concerns the national welfare and the people's livelihood.
